P.J. Stanley and Colette Waldron of Carden Academy of Huntington Beach received Outstanding Teacher Awards from Cornelia Connelly High School, the school’s announced today.
The award is given to junior high school teachers who had a powerful influence on Connelly’s incoming ninth grade students’ academic and personal success in preparation for Connolly, one of the most prestigious girls private schools in Southern California.
It is the ninth consecutive year Mrs. Stanley has received the award. For Mrs. Waldron, it was her second in a row. Mrs. Stanley teaches Algebra and Literature; Mrs. Waldron teaches French.
“Mrs. Stanley is the best teacher I have ever had in my entire life,” says one of the students, Shannon Conboy. “The extent in which she goes to ensure that every student receives an exceptional education is amazing. Not only is she an outstanding teacher, but she is like a second mother to me.”
Of Mrs. Waldron, Sierra Christy says: “Not only is Madame Waldron a wonderful teacher, but she is someone you can go talk to any time, and feel comfortable doing it. If it weren’t for Madame Waldron, I wouldn’t have gotten into French 2 and I wouldn’t have scored in the top fifty percent in the nation on the Grand Concours. Without her I would not be the person that I am today. She deserves to be recognized for her outstanding teaching abilities.” |
