Students from Carden Academy of Huntington Beach presented seniors at Huntington Terrace Senior Living Center Terra Cotta Warriors from the school 's recent trip to China.
The students also gave a 30-minute presentation on the Warriors, based on their recent trip to China.
Carden Academy HB Director Carol Van Asten purchased the warriors in X 'An, Shanxi, at the museum of the Terra Cotta warriors with the intent to give them as gifts.
"We 're excited to be able to present the warriors to the seniors at Huntington Terrace and for our students to give them a presentation of this fascinating story," Mrs. Van Asten says. "The warriors were buried in 210 BC and discovered in 1974 when a local farmer was digging a well. Each warrior is individually crafted. They 're exquisite."
China 's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, created the Terra Cotta army when he conquered China and ruthlessly reshaped its laws. He ordered the creation of the 7,000 life-size, lavishly detailed and adorned clay figures to serve him in the afterlife
